Hello friends, family, and fellow Earthlings
My name is Hannah Goldfarb and I’m the average 18 year old student. I can probably be found sleeping, jamming out to angsty music in my car, or trying to convince people to vote for my candidate. Y’know, the usual.
There’s one small thing about me that strays from the usual: I am one of about 8,000 students worldwide who have received the opportunity to partake in the Rotary Youth Exchange program.
I am a student from District 6960 in Fort Myers, Florida (USA). My host club is the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs Noon. I will be spending the 2017/2018 exchange year with District 4760 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais (Brazil). My Brazilian host club is the Rotary Club de Belo Horizonte – Santo Agostinho
Over the next year, I will live with host families, attend high school, and go about life in a culture and country foreign to my own. I can assure you I will embarrass myself countless times, but I will have fun and grow in ways incomprehensible to myself and those around me.
This blog serves as documentation of my experiences, my thoughts, and my ideas about the world as they come over the following year.
Sit back, relax, and tag along for this incredible experience!
